Excerpt: so we may need to revisit what you mean by control over ice and control over fire. it seems that what you are referring to as "control over ice" is really control over water and the ability to reduce it's temperature and freeze it at will, which is much more utilitarian than just being able to move around pieces of ice (solid state water) without changing water (liquid state water). similarly, what do you mean by fire? does this include just burning of carbon based material? or does it include nuclear fire as well, in which case any kind of nuclear fusion/fission is reasonable.
